​Sarah Jessica Parker opens first retail store

Sarah Jessica Parker is opening her first standalone boutique on December 9th, 2016. The new retail store located at the MGM National Harbor resort in Maryland will offer the designer’s eponymous collection of shoes, handbags, accessories, as well as her line of little black dresses. 

"Opening a standalone store has long been a dream we have been working towards,” said the actress and designer. “We feel truly privileged to be doing so with the expertise, guidance and support of our brilliant partners at MGM Resorts. It's been very exciting to have been involved in all steps of the process, from on-site construction visits to the actual layout and design of our boutique. I'm honored to be included in this massive undertaking and I'm very much looking forward to celebrating in December. Because perhaps then I will believe it's real."

Sarah Jessica Parker, best known for her starring role in the television series Sex in the City, first launched her namesake line  with her partner, George Malekmus III, in 2014. The line is inspired by Parker’s love of New York City, specifically the fashion of the city in the late 1970s. In September of this year, Parker launched a line of little black dresses, available exclusively through Bloomingdales. These dresses will be available in Parker’s new retail venture.

The MGM National Harbor is a $1.2 billion venture by MGM Resorts international. The resort and casino, which will open its doors on December 8th, will include 125,000 square feet of luxury suites, entertainment venues, restaurants, and luxury boutiques.
