Abercrombie hires Ashley Sargent Price as Creative Director of Marketing

Abercrombie & Fitch announced on Tuesday that Ashley Sargent Price has joined the company as Senior Vice President and Creative Director of Marketing.

In this role, Price will oversee the company’s marketing operations, internal photo studio and creative marketing for all Abercrombie brands, including Abercrombie & Fitch, Abercrombie Kids and Hollister Co. She will report to Abercrombie & Fitch President & Chief Merchandising Officer Fran Horowitz.

Prior to Abercrombie, Price served as Senior Vice President of Brand Creative at J. Crew. During her 10 years at the company, she oversaw creative teams for all divisions of the company, including J. Crew, Crewcuts and Madewell. Prior to J. Crew, Price held strategic creative roles at Anthropologie, Ann Taylor Loft, Gap and Urban Outfitters.

The company in July 2015 ditched ‘sexualized marketing’ and began referring to employees as “brand representatives” instead of “models”. Abercrombie has been revamping in order to turn the company around financially, which led to the hiring of Aaron Levine from Club Monaco to serve as Head of Men’s Design, the creation of 6 senior roles and the appointment of Fran Horowitz to President & CMO.

Sales have been up for Abercrombie, which most recently posted an increase in quarterly sales due to a demand in Hollister branded clothing.
