Benetton Group promotes Sundeep Chugh as CEO of Indian business

Italian retail group Benetton announced on Thursday the appointment of Sundeep Chugh as Chief Executive Offer of Benetton India, where the company has been established since 1982 and represents one of its key markets.

As Benetton India’s Commercial Director since 2011, Chugh contributed to the regional growth of the brands United Colors of Benetton, Sisley and Undercolors through a transitioning process from a pure retail model to a combined retail and wholesale business.

His background also counts with several managerial positions within the Indian market, including a three-year period as Sales Director at Adidas, where he established the retailer as a leading sports brand in the country, and a role as Head of Color Television Business at LG overseeing marketing and sales strategies.

Benetton India lost its Managing Director Sanjeev Mohanty at the end of last year, after he announced he would join fashion e-tailer Jabong as its CEO.
