Berlin e-tailer Lesara launches in 16 new markets

Berlin-based online platform Lesara is pushing its European expansion forward as it enters 16 new markets, including the UK and Scandinavia. The massive push to reach 205 million new potential customers follows the discount e-tailer’s internationalisation plan, which also included the re-launch of all of the company’s existing sites as well as the launch of the international website Lesara.com.

The German fashion and lifestyle company has around 3 million unique users per month, and it expects to grow significantly in the UK and Scandinavia. “The United Kingdom is not only the largest e-commerce market in Europe, but is also one open to companies that offer inexpensive fashion,” said Roman Kirsch, CEO and founder of Lesara.

Lesara is already present in six countries, including Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Italy. After Germany, which accounts for 60% of the online shop’s sales, the brand has identified Italy as its second strongest growth market.

Founded in 2013, the online store offers more than 50,000 products ranging from fashion and lifestyle to home and technology through direct collaboration with the best factories from around the world and thanks to data-driven selection. In September 2015 it successfully completed a series B round of financing totalling 15 million euros led by an international consortium of investors headed by the Norwegian firm North Zone.

Lesara’s newly launched website features improved discoverability of products, clearer presentation of information, and themed events and highlights.
