Blue Tomato moves into Switzerland

Last week-end, Blue Tomato, the Austrian retailer specialised in board sports, stepped into the Swiss market by opening its first store in the country, in Zurich.

The store is located at 122 Limmatquai, and extends over 530 square metres on two levels, showcasing the retailer's range of tech and lifestyle apparel brands. There is also a wall packed with shoes and plenty of sport equipment, especially a huge selection of skis, snowboards and skateboards.

Blue Tomato is owned by US group Zumiez, and this latest opening has strengthened its presence on the German-speaking markets.

The retailer started out on the internet and, besides the Zurich store, currently operates 15 stores in Germany and 13 in Austria.
