Britain's Reiss opens Sydney flagship

British mid-luxe fashion retailer Reiss has touched down in Sydney with the opening of its first flagship store in the city, located in Westfield Bondi Junction.

Covering 2,000 square metres, the Sydney store draws on the beach-y lifestyle of Bondi with timber, black steel and pale grey textures, as well as ocean blue marble and summery white concrete.

“We are delighted to be opening our first Sydney standalone and further consolidating our brand presence in Australia,” said David Reiss, founder and chairman, who launched the retailer some 45 years ago. “It’s an exciting market for us and one that we feel is already embracing the Reiss aesthetic.”

The new location is Reiss' third store nationally, after entering Australia -- one of the British brand's top five markets -- in 2016. The other Reiss flagships are in Melbourne; one in St Collins Lane, which opened in May and the other in Chadstone, opened in November.

In the last 12 months, Reiss has also rolled out concessions in Australia's largest department store David Jones as well as online. It also launched its Australia-dedicated website.

Today, Reiss boasts more than 60 UK stores and sells from 160 locations in 15 countries.
