Carolina Herrera announced on Friday the appointment of Emilie Rubinfeld as President of the company. The appointment follows the departure of François Kress, who recently stepped down as CEO of the company.

Rubinfeld joined Carolina Herrera as VP, Global Marketing and Communications in 2012 after serving in executive marketing roles at Giorgio Armani and Akris. She most recently served as Chief Marketing Officer of Carolina Herrera.

Last week, Kress stepped down as CEO after less than a year in the role. Prior to his departure, the company entered a legal battle with Oscar de la Renta over designer Laura Kim. Carolina Herrera sued the company for hiring Kim despite her non-compete clause. The American press reported in July 2016 that Kress allegedly offered Kim a $1 million contract to take the position of SVP of Design. Kim later joined Oscar de la Renta with Fernando Garcia in September.

Also in 2016, Carolina Herrera opened a 4,000-square-foot boutique in Beverly Hills, appointed Raffaele Ilardo as VP of Design and launched a capsule collection with Mytheresa.
