The luxury brand has unveiled a new men's fragrance, "L'Envol de Cartier," a high-flying scent that lets spirits soar. This audacious, woody and nectar-like fragrance is due out in fall 2016.

This masculine fragrance captures a pioneering spirit, aiming for the sky with a liberating, uplifting scent. It encompasses passion in a strong yet mellow fragrance. The scent's key inspiration is mead, the famous ambrosia of the gods of Olympus associated with immortality. It's therefore no surprise to find honey at the center of the new cologne.

This Eau de Parfum was created by Mathilde Laurent, the brand's in-house perfumer ("Roadster," "Cartier de Lune" and, more recently, "La Panthère"). This oriental-transparent scent mixes honeyed notes with Gaiac wood aromas, musk and patchouli.

The innovative bottle takes the form of  a capsule housed within a glass dome. The dual-functionality design is ideal for use at home or away, since the independent capsule containing the honey-colored nectar can be removed and carried separately. In a final touch of skill and creativity, the bottle top is decorated with a guilloché motif.

"L'Envol de Cartier" Eau de Parfum will be out this fall in a 100ml refillable bottle.
