Luxury shoe label Charlotte Olympia has joined forces with the Zaha Hadid design agency to create a pair of shoes and a clutch bag as a tribute to the renowned architect, who passed away in 2016. The two limited-edition items celebrating Zaha Hadid are a pair of platform court shoes and a clutch bag, fashioned out of leather, fluidly shaped Plexiglas and pink-gold metallic profiles.

Both items are a smooth blend of Hadid's signature style and eponymous designer Charlotte Olympia Dellal's flair. Zaha Hadid and Charlotte Olympia Dellal met in 2015, and decided to collaborate. Now, the Zaha Hadid design agency and the shoe label have created the items with the meticulous care the architect would have appreciated.

"I had the pleasure of meeting Zaha Hadid, an extraordinary woman, and to pursue this dream collaboration with her fantastic team. Her work and aesthetics are a constant source of inspiration for me," said Charlotte Olympia Dellal. Both shoes and clutch bag are available at Charlotte Olympia stores and on the label's website, priced at GBP 1,600 for the shoes and GBP2,600 for the clutch bag.

Zaha Hadid was born in Baghdad in 1950 and was educated in Beirut and London. After collaborating with Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, she set up her own studio in London in 1979. Hadid was also a respected theoretician and professor, and taught at the London Architectural Association's School of Architecture, and at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design. She was the first woman to be awarded the Pritzker Architecture prize, one of the most important in the profession.
