Cortefiel appoints new CEO of Women’secret

Grupo Cortefiel has announced the appointment of Eva Romeo Martín-Maestro, former COO, as new CEO of its lingerie brand Women’secret.

Romeo, a Law graduate, has contributed in the creation of high performance teams with a strong brand identity, helping to achieve the current success of Women’secret in Spain and its rapid expansion in 70 international markets.

She has over 20 years of experience holding different leadership roles at the Cortefiel brand. The group said in a statement that her deep understanding of the brand will contribute to the success of this new phase.

Launched in 1993, Women’secret provides lingerie, sleepwear and swimwear for women aged between 25 and 45.

It is currently present in over 70 countries with more than 660 stores - a number that is set to increase as the brand plans the opening of 100 new stores worldwide over the current financial year.

Grupo Cortefiel increased sales for the last financial year by 8.32%, posting 1.09 billion euros.

The Spanish group doubled (93.5%) its online sales for the period, beating its targets for the e-commerce channel.

As for Women’secret, sales grew by 19.09% in the past year. The womenswear retailer also increased its market share, improving to 8%.
