The American label born in 1922 already had its line of shoes for professionals (safety work shoes). But starting in spring-summer 2011, Dickies will open new line Dickies Footwear up to the general public.

The U.S. label is aiming to integrate a more fashion approach to their offer with GPG Company alongside brands Dr Martens, Hunter and Vagabond. "Currently we are in a period of exploration," says a marketing department representative at GPG Company which is looking into jean brands, shoe trends and streetwear stores.

Dickies Footwear will assign 70% of the manufacturing of their workwear shoes and trainers to Portuguese factories. Shoes will be priced between 70 and 160 Euros.
