As with John Galliano's dismissal, Christian Dior envisages a transition period while seeking for a successor to Belgian designer Raf Simons, who stepped down from his role as Creative Director of the womenswear collections in October.

A Christian Dior spokesperson stated to FashionMag.com that the next two collections, the haute couture collection for summer 2016 and the ready-to-wear one for autumn/winter 2016-17, will be designed by an internal team.

As for the pre-collection for autumn 2016, it will not be showing in December, like last year, but will more simply be featured in a presentation in January.

When John Galliano was dismissed in 2011, the luxury couture label allowed itself one year before appointing Raf Simons in April 2012. In the meantime, responsibility for the womenswear collections was entrusted to Bill Gaytten, the British designer's right-hand man, during the transition phase.

According to the US press, Raf Simons' chief assistant, Pieter Mulier, has left Dior too. The news has not been confirmed by the fashion label.
