Dorothy Perkins enters bridal market

British clothing company Dorothy Perkins is the latest affordable brand to join the bridal arena with a collection of wedding and bridesmaid dresses available in 10 styles.

Designed to cater for every bride, the collection features long and mid-length gowns in a variety of cuts. Grecian inspired gowns sit alongside contemporary halterneck fitted dresses, while fishtail designs in satin finishes offer a more glamorous option.

The bridal collection also includes a range of bridesmaid dresses in a colour palette of pastels, brights and classic navy. Each dress comes in varying sizes and fits in curve, tall and petite.

An edit of complementing footwear and accessories completes the range.

The collection ranges from £85 to £175 - significantly cheaper than the £1,378 that British brides pay on average for their wedding dress.

The move into the budget bridal market follows other high street retailers such as Asos and H&M, while further brands including Topshop and Lipsy have announced plans to launch their first range for brides this year.
