The Vienna-based station's complaint came after Britain's BBC, German broadcaster Deutsche Welle and the Voice of America said Friday 12 February Iran had jammed their transmissions.

"Over recent days Fashion TV programmes broadcast in Europe and the Middle East have been blocked by Iran's arsenal, which is worthy of Star Wars," the channel's founder and chief Michel Adam told AFP.

Adam said Iran was probably not deliberately targeting Fashion TV, which broadcasts on a similar frequency to the British, US and German channels.

Fashion TV was "not a political channel", Adam said, even if the models it featured might not comply with the Islamic republic's dress laws.

Interruptions to broadcasts had been particularly bad since Thursday 11 February, when Iran celebrated the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Adam said.

The BBC, Deutsche Welle and Voice of America condemned the jamming of broadcasts on Friday 12 February, saying it breached international treaties on signal interference.VIENNA, Feb 15, 2010 (AFP)
