Fay taps Arthur Arbesser as creative director

Published
Sep 20, 2017

Fay has turned a new page in recruiting Arthur Arbesser as creative director. The appointment comes after the casual chic outerwear brand, owned by Tod's group, put an end to its collaboration with creative duo Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi, who served in the head design role for five years.

The first collection to carry Arthur Arbesser's designs will drop autumn-winter 2018-19, which will be unveiled next January. Fay, who typically shows its collection at Milan fashion week, will skip this season.

The young Milan-based Venetian designer previously worked (between 2015 and 2016) as creative director at Iceberg, the Italian fashion house under Gilmar group. At the beginning of the year, Arbesser ceded his post to James Long, who already lead the men's division of Iceberg.

A graduate of Central Saint Martins in London, Arthur Arbesser worked seven years for Giorgio Armani before releasing has own womenswear label in 2013, which he shows in Milan. He was the winner of the competition 'Who is on next ?' in the same year, and then went on to be a finalist of the LVMH Prize in 2015.

Over the last two years, Fay has repositioned itself by refreshing its product offering and attracting a younger customer, all without losing its traditional shoppers.  Sales notably increased 5.3% in 2016, to 62.6 million euros, growing in all regions.
