GFW signs Tessuti to sponsor new sports/leisure award

Published
May 10, 2018

JD Sports-owned premium fashion retailer Tessuti is partnering with Graduate Fashion Week for the first time, sponsoring a new award category for 2018, to be called The Tessuti Sports & Leisurewear Award.

Tessuti

The initiative reflects ongoing growth in sports and casual fashion in recent years and recognises a category that's often omitted from major award events, despite it being the key category that impacts so many consumers.

GFW is the world’s largest event for graduate fashion talent and entrants for the new award must be nominated by their university. They will be shortlisted ahead of the event by a panel of industry experts.

The finalists, selected by Tessuti, will be invited to GFW’s Gala Awards Show next month. The winner will receive a prize of £1,000, with an additional £500 going to the winning university.

And Tessuti will also host a space at GFW to enable graduates to discuss career opportunities within both the company and the wider JD Sports Fashion organisation, including paid placements.

The retailer said the award builds on its “commitment to sourcing the finest sports and leisurewear designs for customers, as well as [its] dedication to supporting upcoming talent in the fashion industry.”

Graduate Fashion Week takes place from June 3-6 at the Old Truman Brewery in London with the Gala Awards Show taking place on the evening of June 6.
