From April 13-18, the Salon Opéra on the seventh floor of the Galeries Lafayette Haussmann in Paris will take on a gym-like appearance.

To celebrate its new 4,300 square foot “Fashion Sport” space, the store has organized yoga and sports sessions for customers with the help of partner brands since mid-March.

The new space is located on the fourth floor of the main building of the Galeries Lafayette, extending from the lingerie and swimwear sections.

Nike occupies a good portion of the space, covering a surface area of 2,200 square feet, showcasing its running, training and sportswear ranges as well as its gait analysis system and bra consulting. The Canadian brand Lolë, meanwhile, takes up 650 square feet, with of a studio that offers sports sessions throughout the day.

The space, which hosts 13 brands in total, also showcases products by Roxy, Billabong, O'Neill, Wellicious as well as Arena, Cardo, Adidas by Stella McCartney and technical underwear by Falke-SSE.

The sports area also serves as an opportunity to discover newcomers to the French market, such as Australian brand Lorna Jane, which occupies 320 square feet, as well as new Yoga brands like Yuj and Yoga Searcher.

This women’s sports section was designed "in a light and airy environment with an opening to the exterior to maximize daylight, with wide aisles as well as new urban concepts mixing metal, light wood and bright colors." The section is only located in the group’s flagship and, for the moment, there are no plans for a men’s section or to roll it out in other regions.
