Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert will collaborate on a pop-up and t-shirt collection with Bergdorf Goodman

Published

To promote her upcoming book, the W editor will stage a pop-up shop at Bergdorf Goodman and launch her t-shirt collaboration with the department store. The pop-up store and accompanying window display will also celebrate Italian fashion in collaboration with the Italian Trade Commission.

Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert’s Gio_Graphy: Fun in the Wild World of Fashion includes both style advice and anecdotal stories from her many travels. Rizzoli will release the book internationally in October, but leading up to its launch, the Italian fashion editor will take over the famed New York department store.

Battaglia Engelbert’s collaboration with Bergdorf includes a six-piece collection of graphic t-shirts inspired by her humorous book bearing slogans such as “More is More” and “Fashion Emergency.” One of the shirts will be a limited edition release with Swarovski crystals, and Battaglia Engelbert has already spoken with Mattel to create a special edition Barbie bearing one of her graphic t-shirts.

In a nod to Battaglia Engelbert’s Italian heritage, the store will collaborate with the Italian Trade Commission to highlight both established Italian designers such as Gucci as well as younger, up-and-coming talent.

Just in time for New York Fashion Week, the Italian fashion editor will launch her special store window and pop-up shop on September 2, followed by a signing of the book at Bergdorf on September 9.
