H&M opens inaugural Mumbai store

H&M, the Swedish fast fashion giant, has opened its first-ever store in Mumbai at the city's High Street Phoenix.

The 31,000 sqft. store is spread over two levels and will sell H&M's complete range of fashion and accessories for women, men, and children. The store will also sell H&M's limited collections, like the H&M Studio line.

“We have been waiting to bring the next level of fashion to Mumbai and now the wait is finally over. H&M is proud to debut its flagship store at High Street Phoenix! It is such an exciting moment for us to bring fashion and quality at the best price in a sustainable way to style-enthusiasts in the city”, said Country Manager, H&M India Pvt. Ltd,  Janne Einola.

Mumbai shoppers were excited about the new store, queuing up as early as 30 hours before the store opened.

H&M recently posted its sales figures for July, when group sales rose 10% year-on-year. On the 31st of July, H&M had 4,105 stores in total, compared with 3,649 on 31 July 2015.
