Heinemann opens 'world's largest' duty free store in Sydney airport

The world's largest duty free store has launched in Australia, according to duty free group Heinemann.

The Hamburg, Germany-based company has claimed the title after opening a 10,000 square metre precinct at Sydney International Airport.

Located at Terminal 1 (T1), the new shopping hub spans six stores and boasts 719 brands across fashion, accessories, grooming, food, beverage and technology.

There's even an area targeted at male passengers called Men@Work, offering men’s grooming products, fashion, accessories as well as alcohol.

International luxury brands will setting up shop in the airport for the first time including Fendi, Jimmy Choo and Zegna.

Heinemann has five duty free stores at T1, with a final sixth store scheduled to open in late 2016.
