Hugo Boss brings back Ingo Wilts for menswear collection

After a five-year absence, German designer Ingo Wilts will return to Hugo Boss on July 1. In his new role, Ingo Wilts will direct the entirety of the group’s menswear division, a position corresponding to that of the American Jason Wu, who began this season over on the women’s side.

The soon-to-be Hugo Boss men’s creative director had previously worked at the German label for nine years, as head of lines in Selection and Green lines. In 2009, he left Hugo Boss to join Kenneth Cole and Elie Tahari in New York. Subsequently, he served as creative manager for Tommy Hilfiger in Amsterdam.

In his new position, Ingo Wilts will report directly to Christoph Auhagen, Chief Brand Officer. He is to oversee the various artistic directors of the menswear lines Boss, Green, Orange for all product categories.
