Interparfums is prudent but confident for 2016

Published
Mar 15, 2016

After excellent results in 2015, Interparfums is adopting a prudent approach to its current fiscal year. The growth slowdown in China, the Brazilian crisis, the threat of terrorism... "There is no reason to expect spectacular results," stated Philippe Bénacin, CEO of the licensed-fragrance designer (Montblanc, Lanvin, Jimmy Choo, etc.).

Interparfums

However, Interparfums is estimating a 2016 revenue of €338.2 million, equivalent to a 4% rise. And while the group's fragrance mainstays such as Jimmy Choo and Lanvin ought to see their sales decline by respectively 7% and 2%, due to the comparison with a strong 2015 as a result of successful launches, the number one brand in the portfolio, Montblanc, should carry on growing by 4%, up to €92 million.

Rochas, which was acquired a year ago from Procter & Gamble, ought for its part to generate fragrance sales for €25 million, while the Coach fragrances, for which Interparfums acquired the licence in April 2015, is expected to generate €11 million.

However, the biggest launches are expected to take place in 2017. Thus, Interparfums will launch a new Rochas feminine line in 2017 in some fifty countries, while a first Coach feminine line will be introduced next September on its target markets, Asia and the USA. Western Europe, where the US leather goods manufacturer is less well-known, will follow suit in early 2017.

It is worth noting that Interparfums is expected to renew its licence agreement with S.T. Dupont, which is expiring at the end of 2016.
