KCD announces the creation of an 'entertainment and technology' division

Published
Mar 7, 2016

After media and communications, consultancy, production and digital services, KCD Worldwide has added a new weapon to its armoury. The fashion communications agency announced the creation of a new 'Entertainment & Technology' division, "specialised in the entertainment and technology industries, two booming sectors whose impact on the fashion world is particularly significant these days."

Ed Filipowski, Co-Chairman and Chief Strategist at KCD - Indigital

"This department, the first of its kind in a communications agency specialising in fashion, confirms the explosive level of collaboration between these three sectors, which is comparable to the digital revolution in the world fashion industry," stated KCD in a press release.

The agency is led by co-chairpersons Ed Filipowski and Julie Mannion, and has always been at the forefront in the use of technological tools in the service of fashion. It has notably supported the development of Fashion GPS. This collaboration is set to strengthen through Launchmetrics, the new entity born of the fusion between US company Fashion GPS and French company Augure, specialised in social influence marketing.

Without giving any further details, the agency explained that "the new division will operate across all of KCD's offices in New York, London, Paris and Los Angeles, exploiting the services of each of its divisions: media relations, creative and digital services."

"The agency's producer role in a fashion-based TV programme will be announced soon," KCD also stated in its press release, without providing further information.

The New York agency features over 80 brands among its clients, including Alexander Wang, Balmain, Chloe, Givenchy, Isabel Marant, McQueen, Marc Jacobs, Margiela, Nina Ricci, Proenza Schouler, Tommy Hilfiger and Tory Burch.
