Kat Von D recruits Greenday's Billie Joe Armstrong for new eyeliner

Greenday frontman Billie Joe Armstrong is breaking into the beauty industry, with a new collaboration with Kat Von D.

The musician has teamed up with the tattoo artist and cosmetics entrepreneur on a new liquid eyeliner product, named ‘Basketcase.'

The vegan and cruelty-free makeup magnate took to Instagram to break the news, uploading a photo of herself handcuffed to the singer, who is sporting his signature emo-inspired smudged black liner. She captioned the image: "A little behind-the-scenes from yesterday's shoot w @billiejoearmstrong. Super excited about our upcoming eyeliner collab for @katvondbeauty." For his part, Armstrong uploaded a black and white shot of the pair to his own Instagram account, writing: "Me, Kat, eyeliner, handcuffs = justice!!"

An exact launch date for the eyeliner has yet to be revealed, with Kat Von D using the cryptic hashtag ‘coming soon' on her social media accounts.

Armstrong was one of the pioneers of the ‘guyliner' trend that took off in the early noughties, building his iconic, punk-rocker look around a chunky black liner.

Since being founded in 2008, Kat Von D Beauty has grown to become one of the leading brands to champion vegan, cruelty-free color cosmetics, incorporating fragrances, cosmetics and makeup tools.
