Kering to hold online debate on the environment

After the success of its Twitter live chat in November, Kering is having another go. The luxury group has invited the public to discuss with its Chief Sustainability Officer and Head of international institutional affairs, Marie-Claire Daveu, on Tuesday 3rd May at 11 am via live streaming.

The invitation extended by Kering to discuss the environment on the web

The discussion, lasting approximately 45 minutes, will this time cover the objectives the group set for itself in 2012 on the issue of sustainable development, as the debate's intriguing title illustrates: "When luxury sets sustainability targets.. beyond our limits."

On the same day in fact, Kering will publish a detailed report on the status of these objectives, covering the 2012-2016 period. During the discussion, which will be hosted in English by journalist Molly Hall, Marie-Claire Daveu will notably explain in which areas the group has made progress, on which issues it is still encountering difficulties and what the next stages will be.

Kering already assessed the plan's mid-term development in 2014, by issuing a press release. This time it will go digital, to communicate as widely as possible, while preparing to launch a new plan of action.

The debate organised last November on Twitter did not feature video, but this new event will instead be more 'visible'. It will be filmed live and will be accessible to the largest possible audience, via a dedicated platform featured on all of Kering's social media (Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook) as well as on its website.

This initiative is surely more appealing and democratic than a traditional press conference.
