Leonard: Creative Director Yiqing Yin leaves the fashion label

Published

Yiqing Yin joined French fashion label Leonard in January 2014 to replace Véronique Leroy as Creative Director. She has only recently stepped down from her role after completing the design for her last collection. According to our information, she plans to dedicate herself chiefly to her own brand, which shows with the haute couture week.

At Leonard, Nathalie Tribouillard-Chassaing, the CEO of the family company created by her father Daniel in 1958, explained that Yiqing Yin is not expected to be replaced as such, at least initially. "We recruited a collections director who will arrive in February and we will strengthen our design office. Our objective is to think about how we build our collections, in order to keep on attracting customers, and to win new ones."

For some time, the label has been trying to reconcile a contemporary style with respect for its DNA. It is surely a hard balance to strike. All the more so when working with a designer such as Yiqing Yin, who knows what she wants and whose fashion culture is at the polar opposite of Leonard's.
