Louis Vuitton postpones further Supreme collaboration launches

Published
Jul 15, 2017

Shoppers waiting to get their hands on the Louis Vuitton x Supreme collection were in for a scare this week. The highly anticipated collaboration collection that launched in select cities on June 30 was reported cancelled after the emails from Louis Vuitton’s client services representatives circulated saying, “this collection will no longer be sold in any stores or online.”

It turned out that the representative’s information was not entirely true, but rather that further launches will be delayed.

According to GQ, client services at Louis Vuitton in Dallas and San Francisco said the collection would not launch on July 14 as previously stated, but the collection is not cancelled entirely. VIPs have been able to secure pieces from the collaboration collection at local Louis Vuitton stores, and many shoppers shared the confirmation emails on social media as well.

Louis Vuitton x Supreme first debuted in January and launched in Seoul, Beijing, Tokyo, Sydney, London, Paris, Los Angeles and Miami. A New York City pop up location was notably snubbed after a community board denied a pop up proposal from Louis Vuitton and Supreme. The board argued that the companies were not prepared for the potential chaos that would ensue with the collection launch and pop up opening.

The Los Angeles pop up location in Downtown LA closed following an incident with the LAPD, but there has been no word if the incident and pop up closing were related.
