Milan: an updated schedule for Men's Fashion Week

Published
Jan 13, 2016

Versace, Giorgio Armani, Prada, Gucci, Zegna… Milan Fashion Week dedicated to men's ready-to-wear collections for winter 2016-17 will once again offer a well-balanced programme, between prestigious brands, new names, and several returning labels, such as Roberto Cavalli led by Peter Dundas, scheduled for 15 January.

Another label coming back to the Milan catwalk is Ports 1961, having been designed the past two seasons by Milan Vukmirovic, who showed at Pitti Uomo in June.

As last season, the Italian Camera Nazionale della Moda Italia has announced "39 runway shows, 47 presentations and 9 events for a total of 86 collections". With shows not on the official calendar, such as Dolce & Gabbana on Saturday 16 and Boglioli on Sunday 17, as well Ports 1961 listed in the "events" section to not step on Roberto Cavalli's toes on the first day, the total number of runway shows comes to 42.

For newcomers, there is Pal Zileri. Acquired by Qatar equity firm Mayhoola for Investments last year, the menswear brand held its first off-calendar runway show in June. It will show on Saturday 16 between Neil Barrett and Versace.

Another Italian brand renowned for its know-how, Boglioli, also in a period of relaunch, will be showing for the very first time, on Sunday 17, unveiling the work of Davide Marello, the label's very first creative director.

Other newcomers include young designer Lucio Vanotti, showing for the first time in Milan, on January 16, in the theatre provided by Giorgio Armani, and Helen Anthony, whose show will close the week.

Presented at the last summer edition of Pitti Uomo, this 100% British brand, founded in December 2013 by designer Anthony, will also walk the runway for the first time in Milan.

The full calendar can be consulted on the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italia website.
