New York perfumer Le Labo opens first Australia store

New York fragrance brand Le Labo has opened its first Australian store in the hip Fitzroy area of Melbourne.

The Australian flagship will be located at 183 Gertrude Street, Fitzroy and will stock the full Le Labo range, which includes fine fragrances, homeware products and accessories. 

While an exact date has not been given for the debut, it is expected Le Labo Melbourne will open early March. Mecca is currently the only stockist of Le Labo products in Australia, as well as specific counters in department store major, David Jones.

Founded in the Nolita neighbourhood of Manhattan in 2006, Le Labo has garnered a cult following for its unisex scents. Its Santal 33 scent is a favourite among celebrities and style leaders, from Alexa Chung to Justin Bieber.

Le Labo recently became part of the cosmetic giant Estee Lauder and its burgeoning brand portfolio.

Le Labo has stores across New York, San Francisco, LA, Paris, London, Tokyo, Berline, Hong Kong. Melbourne will be its 33rd location.
