Notify and Ron Arad working together

Published
Jul 10, 2009

The adventure continues for Notify and the Israeli artist Ron Arad. After having been patron of the “Ron Arad, No Discipline” exhibition, which was at the Pompidou Centre in Paris in March, the French jeans brand is also sponsoring the New York edition of the same event from 2 August 2009 to 19 October 2009 at the Museum of Modern Art.

And, as announced at the beginning of the year, the pairing is going even further. They are getting down to the design of a “revolutionary workshop” in Milan. At the heart of a former construction site on the Via Carlo Poma, over some 3,000m², a gigantic structure is taking shape “in polished stainless-steel mesh, at 45 tons and 25 metres high … [where] customizable, made-to-measure Notify jeans [will be made], offering different types of wash, stitching and ornaments,” explained Notify.

Open to the public from this coming autumn, the workshop will also be an artist’s studio and an exhibition space, “therefore bringing different creative worlds pertaining to design together, in an interdisciplinary dialogue.”
