POW and Holden change hands

POW Holdings turned into an action sports group in 2013, with the acquisitions of Holden Outerwear and Spacecraft Collective. In 2014, the Columbia Pacific Advisors investment fund, whose main business is property investment, became a shareholder.

Now the shareholder has decided to withdraw from the action sports world and the brands have been put up for sale. The investment fund reported it has found buyers for the three brands from the US North-West.

POW gloves will now be flying Australian colours. Rojo Australia, founded in Torquay in 1987, features winter wear for skiing and snowboarding for women and children. The acquisition of a gloves brand like POW, created in 2002 by Dustin Goss and distributed on all major skiing markets, is a fitting addition to its range.

The Holden Outerwear brand, distinctive for its snowboarding imprint, has instead been bought by private investors. It too was founded in 2002 by snowboarder Mikey LeBlanc and designer Scott Zergebel, and it features men's and women's collections with a focus on jackets.

Finally, Spacecraft Collective, the accessories, hats and apparel brand founded by Stefan Hofmann and inspired by the board sports world, was sold to skateboarding brand Omen Longboards, which is also established in the North-Western USA. The amount of the transactions was not indicated.
