Parsons students showoff sustainable designs on Madison Ave

Published

Parsons design students have taken over the windows of a Madison Avenue building. This installation, named #UN_MADE, will show off the newest in sustainable garment innovations, along with student-produced editorials, behind-the-scenes videos, and works in progress.

UN_MADE, presented by Parsons AAS - Jason Paul

#UN_MADE looks into the vast amounts of waste caused by the fashion industry and how existing garments can be reutilized and redesigned to give new life to a garment. To look deeper into the issue of waste, students were challenged to look at destructing garments in order to learn how to reinvent them, hence the name #UN_MADE.

All garments shown have been created by four students of the AAS of Fashion Design program at the Parsons New School of Design – Julia McCann, Mia Jeanjaquet, Mengying Li, and Na Ren. The students were led by Jason McCarthy, director of the AAS Fashion Design and Fashion Marketing program.

The show will be on display at 550 Madison Avenue until the end of March. The building is currently unoccupied, so Parsons students have been utilizing the space to show off creations over the past year.
