Paul Smith and Oakley pair up

Published
May 26, 2009

British refinement meets American dynamism. Fond of collaboration (Libération, 1:6 Design, Manchester United…), Paul Smith is starting a new project this summer. The British designer is signing, with Oakley, a collection of sunglasses for his jeans label, which will be exclusively sold by his network of stores.

“Fresh and amusing”, this line will consist of Frogskin models by Oakley, which the brand presented for the first time in 1986. “They have since become a symbol of the skate and surf culture of the decade”, said a representative of the brand.

Mirrored or tinted lenses, retro colour and shape, finishing touches in rubber, the sunglasses will be sold at €250. A note of warning though, there won’t be enough for everyone – only five hundred pairs of the model will be made.
