Qatar Luxury Group’s brand Qela announces planned N.Y. unit

Qela, the ready-to-wear brand launched by the Qatar Luxury Group, is due to open its Parisian store in June, with the official inauguration scheduled for July. The store will be located on Avenue Montaigne, a popular street for luxury brands including Dior, Chanel and Fendi.

The store will be the brand’s second, following the opening of its first unit in Doha in September 2013.

Recently, the company disclosed plans to open its third location, this time across the Atlantic. Qela has secured a 600m² unit on New York’s Madison Avenue, with an expected opening date scheduled for early 2015.

Much in keeping with its Doha and future Paris store, the New York unit will follow the brand’s existing concept but will also include a gallery space which will host two exhibitions per year. It will also boast a private salon dedicated to couture.
