It will be the first time that the Design Forum collection is an accessories-only range, and it will feature 9 pieces - including necklaces, earrings, a key ring and a phone case. The designs were all inspired by the carnivorous Venus fly trap plant.

Jones said the collection is a “celebration of the beauty in the oddity of life, subverting the grotesque, and presenting them as the beautiful. The collection has a real sense of humour, pieces are fun and witty but also desirable and detailed”. It also references Jones' roots, with its punk-chic use of gunmetal and blue bottle flies.

Jones trained as a jeweller at London’s Sir John Cass School of Art and Design, and has won the NEWGEN award five times. His debut jewellery collection launched in 2009. Dom Jones x River Island Design Forum collection will launch via a short film at London Fashion Week’s Fashion Film event in September 2016, and be in stores from September 12. It will retail from £20-£70.

Previous Design Forum collaborators include SIBLING, Zoe Jordan and Eudon Choi. In May this year, British menswear fashion brand YMC teamed up with River Island on a Design Forum collection to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
