Sarah Jessica Parker launches her own line of little black dresses

Sarah Jessica Parker is launching her own fashion line composed exclusively of little black dresses.

The actress and fashion icon has christened the range the 'SJP LBD', and fans can expect the first design from the collection as early as October. Further designs -- we don't yet know how many -- will follow at a later date.

Parker took to Instagram to break the news in typically irreverent fashion, posting a video clip that shows her twirling her way through a set of revolving doors in one of her pieces. The mid-length, full-skirted design is conservative from the front but features a racer back detail that suggests her collection will be wearable but flirtatious; Carrie Bradshaw would surely approve. She added that she had been "practically living in" the design.

The dresses will be available exclusively at Bloomingdales, and Parker points out that they are "made proudly in the USA."

This isn't the 'Sex and the City' star's first foray into fashion design -- under the umbrella of her brand 'SJP Collection' she has been designing colorful shoes for some years now. She has also designed shoes and accessories for the department store Nordstrom, and in 2015 collaborated with Fendi, creating her own version of its 'Baguette' bag for a charity auction. She also has plenty of experience within the beauty industry, and in August unveiled her latest fragrance -- a sexy new scent called 'Stash.'
