Silhouette combines jewelry and eyewear in Swarovski crystal frames

Nothing short of jewelry for the face, the latest frames from the luxury eyewear brand are made of gold with Swarovski crystal inlay.

Always fun accessories, eyeglasses often echo the latest fashion trends, taking on colors and patterns seen on the ready-to-wear runways. But what if designers approached eyewear as a form of jewelry? Setting out to do just that, Silhouette has introduced the elegant Crystal Diva eyeglass frames.

Handmade in the brand's Austrian workshops, the multi-layer 23K gold-plated frames are adorned with around 200 Swarovski crystals of one millimeter each in diameter. These jewels are applied to the branches using a technique known as "Cristal Appliqué," which is said to offer optimal shimmer.

The branches are available in three colors: Rhodium Crystal, Gold Crystal and Gold Vintage Rose. These bejeweled eyeglass frames are available for €799 (around $995).
