Suitsupply eyes global expansion for its sister brand Suistudio

Dutch menwear label Suitsupply has plans to further roll-out its sister label, Suistudio. The suit retailer first launched its womenswear concept in 2017 and is now ready for global expansion.

Suistudio has recently opened branches in Frankfurt and Milan as well as a 4,000-square-foot flagship store in the heart of New York City’s Soho. According to the brand, the recent openings have resulted in defining its market position and retail strategy. Suistuio also plans to land in Paris by the end of 2018 and is exploring opportunities across North America.

Fokke De Jong, founder and CEO at Suitsupply, said in a press release: “We are seeing significant global potential for Suistudio. Men come to Suitsupply for our expert craftsmanship and energized style. It’s become clear a white space has existed in women’s suiting and Suitsupply - through its Suistudio brand - is uniquely positioned to bring high-end tailoring to women that want to find their own perfect fit.”

In May 2017, Suitsupply first announced the launch of its sister label, which came onto the market five months later. The brand unveiled concept stores in New York, Shanghai and Amsterdam, followed by the aforementioned recent openings.

Suistudio currently operates six stores and a web shop. The brand is known for focusing on ‘power-suiting’, its use of Italian fabrics and tailor-made details such as kissing buttons, AMF stitching and double- and single-breasted models.

Suitsupply was founded in 1999 as an online store by CEO Fokke de Jong, while still in college. The company opened its first physical branch a year later and landed abroad in 2007 with the opening of a store in Antwerp, Belgium. Suitsupply has since expanded to cities such as Milan, London, Zurich, New York, Toronto, Singapore and Hong Kong. Today, the menswear retailer has more than 100 brick-and-mortar locations across the globe.
