Textile Exchange announces first Responsible Wool Standard

Published
Feb 22, 2016

The Textile Exchange NGO has recently announced the first version of its Responsible Wool Standard, devised to provide manufacturers with a label for wool produced respecting the best practices for animal care, land management and traceability.

The project was launched last year and Textile Exchange is waiting for the opinion of professionals on its document, which could thus be subject to some modifications before the official publication, planned for next May.

Several brands and high-calibre groups are stakeholders in the project. The Responsible Wool Standard has indeed passed through the hands of Kering, Gap, H&M, PVH, Tesco, The North Face and Patagonia.
