The Glam App and L’Oréal Paris partner for 'Academy' styling program

Published
Apr 12, 2017

Mobile platform The Glam App announced this week a new beauty experience, made in partnership with L’Oréal Paris. The platform and L’Oréal this spring are launching an artistry program that will help bring customers beauty products on demand.

The Glam App can send hair or makeup artists directly to a user's home or office

Founded in 2015 by actress Cara Santana and stylist Joey Maalouf, The Glam App allows users to choose a range of services, including blow dry, makeup applications, and a polish change, all on a mobile device. Users can call artists to their home or office, or they can set up an appointment for a later date.

The passion project that was described as the “Uber of hair and makeup” by the Boston Globe was born from the desire to help emerging artists. To date, The Glam App is available in over 20 cities in the US and the UK, and it will launch in Augusta, Charleston, New Orleans, Orlando, and St. Louis.

The new platform with L’Oréal launches on May 8 with the third annual The Glam App Academy educational styling program in Miami. Hosted by Maalouf, the Academy will include 1,900 of L’Oréal’s makeup, beauty and hair stylists, including hair stylist Jonathan Colombini and L’Oréal Paris Celebrity Makeup Artist Sir John. The beauty company will also sponsor curated looks on the app for users to choose from throughout the year.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with the iconic L’Oréal Paris brand to bring its expertise in product knowledge to our ever-growing artistry base,” said Maalouf. “This partnership goes beyond just the Academy; it’s about building a stronger network for our artists to provide them with the best tools and trends and access to new products on the market.”

L’Oréal Paris is a division of L’Oréal Paris.
