Ahead of the Baselworld 2017 luxury watch fair -- which runs March 23 to 30, in Basel, Switzerland -- Tissot has previewed its new "Tissot Ballade" wristwatch. For the first time in its history, the Swiss brand has loaded this model with a movement featuring a silicon balance spring, offering optimal precision and endurance.

Models for men and women

This new technology is paired with the Powermatic 80 self-winding movement, which is certified by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). It has a power reserve of up to 80 hours and offers hours, minutes and seconds functions, plus a date window at three o'clock.

Landing in versions for men and women, the timepiece has a 316L stainless steel case with a transparent back. It's available with black, white or white mother of pearl dials, depending on the model selected. The bezel is finished with an elegant and practical "Clou de Paris" motif on all models.

Waterproof to 50 meters, the "Tissot Ballade" comes with a 316L solid stainless steel strap or a leather strap with a butterfly clasp. Prices range from €890 to €950, depending on the model.
