The American retailer is strengthening its position in Europe. With a major presence in the UK (some 20 physical stores) and the opening of a Spanish flagship store in 2014, Urban Outfitters has now invested in Italy. More specifically, in Milan, on Vittorio Emanuele, located at number 2 on the city's celebrated corso.

The Milan boutique covers 2,200 square metres and is spread over four levels. No opening date has been given, according to Cushman & Wakefield, the retail firm responsible for first announcing Urban Outfitter's Milan store arrival.

Urban Outfitters previously tested the market waters in Italy in 2015, with the opening of a shop-in-shop, which covered 200 square metres, set up inside the department store, La Rinascente de Milan.

To this day, the brand, which sells its own men's and women's brands, as well as other labels, boasts more than 200 boutiques worldwide.

Forming part of the URBN group (alongside Anthropologie, Free People and Vetri Family), Urban Outfitters also sells beauty, home decor, gifts and music products, with a youth, street focus.
