Vince on Tuesday announced the appointment of Patrik Ervell as Vice President of Men’s Design, a newly created position for the company.

The California-born designer has been at the helm of his namesake menswear label since 2005. He held his first runway show after winning the Ecco Domani Award for Menswear in 2007, and he was later nominated for the Swarovski Award for Menswear in 2008, 2009 and 2010 and the CFDA Menswear Designer of the Year Award in 2011.

As VP of Men’s Design, Ervell will oversee product design for the men’s ready-to-wear and accessories collections. He will relocate to Los Angeles to work at the contemporary fashion label’s design studio, beginning this October, and his first collection for the company will debut in this coming January.

“I’ve always admired Vince for its uncompromising commitment to quality and its clean, modern aesthetic,” said Ervell. “I look forward to working alongside Caroline and the rest of the team to evolve the men’s collection, while staying true to the Vince brand ethos of modern, luxurious design.”

The company earlier this year ended its consulting arrangement with its co-founders, Rea Laccone and Christopher LaPolice, who rejoined the company to reset the brand aesthetic and merchandise.

Months after the co-founders parted ways with Vince again, the company hired Club Monaco’s Creative Director and SVP of Women’s Design Caroline Belhumeur to succeed Katayone Adeli, who stepped down as Artistic Director after two years. Ervell, in his new role, will report to Belhumeur.

“With over 10 years’ experience at the helm of his own successful label, Patrik has undoubtedly had a profound impact on the men’s wear community,” said Belhumeur. “We’re excited for him to bring his unique perspective and vision to Vince in leading our men’s product design moving forward.”
