Woolrich launches into footwear with outdoors/urban capsule collection

Woolrich is set to launch its very first footwear line with the A/W 2017/18 season, and will offer a preview at Pitti Uomo by showcasing a limited edition capsule collection.

The 'Woolrich Shoes' project combines the typical elements of outdoor tech footwear with a contemporary urban style. The collection will feature two types of soles, both made exclusively for Woolrich by Vibram: one is the classic mountain-boot lug sole, and the other incorporates an innovative grip tread patterned after the brand's signature Buffalo check.

The collection consists of two distinct lines, one outdoors-inspired while the other has a more urban feel. Both offer a new take on classic contemporary footwear, from several running shoe versions built using traditional leather or high tech materials, to classic mountain boots like the 'Hiker Boot' model, a trekking-style shoe that, thanks to the Vibram sole material, can be worn in town too.

The limited edition collection on show at Pitti Uomo is produced in Woolrich Mill wool, in 'Melton blue' for the men's models and 'Hunting checks' for women's.
