3.1 Phillip Lim opens new LA Arts District store

3.1 Phillip Lim made its return to Los Angeles on Friday with the opening of a new retail location in the Arts District on 734 E. 3rd Street. The New York City-based brand first announced the opening in April.

The brand replaces its previous Los Angeles location on Robertson Blvd. with the new Arts District store. The previous retail location closed in 2016 when its lease was up, in favor of the current E. 3rd Street space that Lim said he would hold meetings in years ago.

The new Arts District store stands at 5,000 square feet and sports a unique concept that is much like an art installation of a residential home. The high ceiling boasts wooden beams that contrast the white walls in the space and complement the wooden furniture and home objects. An edited selection of the brand’s collection is available in store and displayed among items and home decor from brand collaborators such as Patrick Parrish Gallery, M. Crow, Li, Inc., Apparatus, Ro/Lu and Mast.

In addition, the Arts District store has a walled patio in the rear with a whitewashed brick façade and trees.

3.1 Phillip Lim currently operates stores in New York City, Bal Harbour, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Macau, Singapore, Bangkok and Taipei. The brand also shared plans to open a store in Waikiki in June.
