ABG signs new footwear license for Frye
Frye, a historic New York-based footwear brand, will now count on Footwear Unlimited for the design, manufacture and distribution of its products in the United States. The license covers a broad range of footwear categories, including casual and dress boots and shoes, winter boots and shoes, sandals and flipflops, sports shoes and slippers for men, women and kids.
“Established in 1863, Frye is an authentic American heritage brand which holds a unique position in the fashion and lifestyle landscape,” explained Christina Martin Pieper, SVP of brand, lifestyle at ABG, in a release. “Footwear Unlimited is a highly trusted footwear operator, bringing generations of expertise in sourcing, design, manufacturing as well as strong retail relationships. We are confident that they will uphold the fine quality and craftsmanship that Frye has been delivering to consumers for more than 150 years.”
The new licensing agreement comes as ABG pushes forward with its development strategy for Frye. The company’s plans involve expanding the brand, which currently offers small leather goods, accessories, hosiery and outerwear alongside its core footwear lines, into new categories including apparel, workwear and home.
