In October, the retailer first announced its plans to open its first Dutch branch in Amsterdam. The three-story building will offer collections for men, women and children in addition to accessories and interior products. Arket describes itself as a premium brand of the H&M Group, with a higher price range than other brands in the group’s portfolio and a focus on timeless pieces, rather than ‘fast fashion’.

Arket Amsterdam will also serve food and drinks at its vegetarian food café, which is based on the New Nordic Food Manifesto, blending traditional Scandinavian flavors with modern and global influences.

H&M Group introduced Arket into its brand portfolio in March 2017. The first physical store opened at London’s Regent Street in August, followed by stores in Copenhagen, Brussels and Munich.

In December 2017, the H&M Group, consisting of brands such as H&M, Weekday, Monki and &Other Stories, announced the addition of another new label, Nyden. The online and pop-up brand is planned to launch in early 2018.
