Asda's George fashion label names new VP

Supermarket clothing and homewares brand George at Asda has appointed Karl Doyle its new vice-president.

The former Reiss director will join the George brand on 1 March, replacing Zoe Matthews, who had stepped down from the business following a management restructure, according to reports.

Doyle has over 25 years experience in fashion retail. He was formerly commercial director at premium fashion brand Reiss for four years so the George label will be a very different experience. Before that, he was executive group product director for Mothercare. He has also worked for Next and M&S.

Doyle will report to new George at Asda MD Liz Evans, who joined in January from Fat Face, where she was chief executive.

Evans wrote to her team at George, saying of Matthews: “Since she joined us four years ago, Zoe has made a fantastic contribution to our business and has really moved the George brand forward. She obviously goes with our very best wishes for the future.”
