Berlin trade shows about to start, featuring mainstream and more exclusive events

From Tuesday July 3 to Thursday July 5, Berlin will be alive with fashion shows, hosting a plethora of events from major trade shows to more exclusive sessions. Eco-responsible fashion for example will be centre stage at the Greenshowroom and the Ethical Show, both held at Kraftwerk Berlin.

The last edition of the Seek show in Berlin - Seek

Panorama instead remains the mainstream event in the three-day show marathon. Launched in 2013, Panorama will host 800 exhibitors across nine different venues at the Berlin Expo Center. Among the collections on display, those by Dr Denim, Superdry, Gant, Herrlicher, Jack & Jones and Saucony. From France, there will be Lacoste, Le Temps des Cerises and Naf Naf, while Tom Tailor, Carl Gross, Digel and Roy Robson will be part of the German contingent. Panorama will also continue to focus on the issues affecting the retail channel, with a dedicated area called ‘Retail Solutions’ and a series of conferences on the subject. The ‘Nova Court’ area will instead be dedicated to limited edition and vintage sneakers, in collaboration with three of the city’s specialists: Soto Berlin, N°74 Berlin and Pauls Boutique.

The Premium Exhibitions group, which from the start of the year has a new majority shareholder, British group Clarion Events, will organise four events: Premium, Show & Order, Seek and Bright. Premium and Show & Order will altogether host 724 exhibitors at the Station Berlin venue, with 508 international labels and 216 from Germany. Among the exhibitors, Drykorn, Day Birger and Mikkelsen, Essentiel, French Connection, Filippa K, Guess, K-Way, Liu Jo, La Martina, North Sails, Scotch & Soda, Strellson and Selected Homme. There will be a sizeable French contingent, with Des Petits Hauts, American Vintage, Majestic Filatures, Soi Paris, La Fée Maraboutée, Chevignon and Faguo.

This season’s theme at Seek, the show focusing on streetwear and denim brands, will be ‘Destination’. It will showcase 244 labels, among them Boxfresh, Dickies, Edwin, Farah, Fred Perry, Herschel, Loreak, Lyle & Scott, Nudie Jeans, Original Penguin and PRPS. Also, select sport and outdoor brands, like Napapijri, Ellesse and Helly Hansen, will present a series of specifically targeted products.

Last January’s session at Bright, the street culture/skateboarding event - PREMIUM GROUP

As for Bright, the show dedicated to the street culture and skateboarding scene, the forthcoming edition will be eagerly awaited by aficionados, as it will be the first since the departure last February of its two founders, Marco Aslim and Thomas Martini. The show was first held in 2005, and will feature exhibitors like DC Shoes, Pull In and Titus. According to the exhibitor list, there seems to be a slight decline in the number of brands on show. Both Seek and Bright will be held at the Arena Berlin.

Finally, The Selvedge Run show changes venue within the Messe Berlin centre, and will be held at Am Funkturm. It will have more room to showcase the sixty or so menswear labels specialising in denim and vintage products, including accessories and footwear.
