Cerruti 1881: designer Aldo Maria Camillo steps down

Published
May 25, 2015

Having served as Cerruti 1881’s artistic director since April 2012, the designer Aldo Maria Camillo is now stepping down. The Italian company, which is based in Paris and is owned by the Chinese company Trinity (Li & Fung Group) announced Camillo’s departure in a brief statement, referring to his desire to "pursue other personal projects."

The Italian designer began his career in 1998, making his debut as senior designer in Ermenegildo Zegna’s “formal and tailored” department from 2006 to 2009. A graduate of the New York Fashion Institute of Technology, Camillo joined Valentino in 2009, where he became head of its menswear department.

He joined Cerruti 1881 only three years ago, bringing a new energy to the fashion house by reinterpreting its codes with casual chic silhouettes featuring a young and timeless style.
